The City of Vancouver will be temporarily gifted an original Salvador Dali sculpture, Dance of Time I., in Spring/Summer 2017, as part of the Definitely Dali project. The project is presented by the Chali-Rosso Gallery and will provide Vancouver residents unrestricted access to one of the most iconic sculptures of the Modern Masters. The nearly 7 feet tall museum size sculpture is on loan from the Stratton Institute and will be exhibited in the Heritage District, from May to September 2017.The Dance of Time I sculpture was conceived in 1979 and the first cast was created in 1984.

The sculpture exemplifies Dali's controversial relationship with time, and the importance he believed to be inherent in memory. As Canadians reflect on the past 150 years during Canada's 150th birthday celebrations, time and memory are topical subjects. The Dance of Time l symbolizes this evolution of time, and change that everyone can relate to.

An additional 20 gallery size Dali sculptures are exhibited in the Chali-Rosso Gallery’s Howe Street location.
